DAY 2 — LONDON • STONEHENGE • BATH •
BRISTOL
After a morning arrival in London we gather our luggage and travel
to Bath with a stop at prehistoric Stonehenge. Tour the Roman Baths
and continue on to Kingwood to see the school founded by John Wesley.
Nearby is Hanham Mount where John Wesley and George Whitefield held
open-air sermons. Dinner and overnight in the area.
DAY 3 — BRISTOL • OXFORD • LONDON
This morning we tour Bristol including the New Room and Charles
Wesley’s Home. Drive to Oxford for a tour of The Christ Church,
Lincoln College (John Wesley’s room), and St. Michael’s
Church. Other reformers associated with Oxford are George Whitefield,
John Wycliffe and Benjamin Ingham. Continue to London for dinner
and overnight.

DAY 4 — LONDON
Morning tour of the Wesley sites: City Road, John Wesley’s
Home, Aldersgate Street, Bunnhill Fields — the cemetery here
is also the earliest Baptist site. Roger Williams, founder of American
Baptism, was born in London. John Smyth founded the first Baptist
community in London. Our afternoon tour of London includes Westminster
Abbey, where the statue of American Baptist Martin Luther King stands,
the Tower of London, and Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, on Shaftesbury
Avenue, was the first Baptist chapel built to be seen on main street.
Dinner and overnight.
DAY 5— LONDON • CANTERBURY • NOYON •
PARIS
This morning we drive through the southern English countryside to
Canterbury where we tour the cathedral. We continue on to Dover
for a ferry crossing of the English Channel to Calais. We now drive
through northern France to Paris with a stop in Noyon to visit Calvin’s
Home and Museum. Arrive in Paris in time for dinner and overnight.
DAY 6— PARIS
Today’s city tour of beautiful Paris includes the Champs-Elysees,
Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral, Sacre Coeur, Place de Le
Concorde and Left Bank to mention only a few of the many sites we
will take in. Afternoon free or optional excursion to Versailles
Palace. Dinner and overnight in Paris.
DAY 7— PARIS • HEIDELBERG • WORMS
This morning we depart to Heidelberg in Germany. Our afternoon tour
includes the Heidelberg Castle. We take a short drive to Worms and
tour the Luther sites: the Luther Monument, the Cathedral and the
Church of the Holy Trinity. Dinner and overnight in Worms.
DAY 8—WORMS • EISENACH • ERFURT
We drive today to Eisenach where we tour Wartburg Castle and the
town of Eisenach including the Luther Home and Bach’s former
home. We continue to Erfurt for dinner and overnight.
DAY 9— ERFURT • EISLEBEN • LEIPZIG
We take a morning tour of Erfurt: the Augustinian Monastery with
the Luther Memorial, St. Mary’s Cathedral and St. Steveri’s
Church. In the afternoon we drive to Eisleben where we visit the
homes where Luther was born and died, the Church of St. Peter and
St. Paul, and St. Andrew’s Church. Continue to Leipzig for
dinner and overnight.
DAY 10 — LEIPZIG • WITTENBERG • TORGAU
• LEIPZIG
This morning’s tour of Leipzig includes St. Thomas Church
and the Old Town Hall. In the afternoon drive to Wittenberg and
tour the Luther sites: The Castle Church, the Luther House with
the Reformation Museum and the Melanchthon House. Proceed to Torgau
to see the first Palace Church (the first Protestant church) and
the Church of St. Mary with the gravestone of Luther’s wife,
Katharina von Bora. Return to Leipzig for dinner and overnight.
DAY 11— LEIPZIG • ROTHENBURG • AUGSBURG
Today we drive south through rolling German countryside to Augsburg
with a stop for lunch and sightseeing in Rothenburg, an extremely
well preserved medieval city, complete with cobblestone streets,
protective moat wall and charming old buildings and homes. Dinner
and overnight in Augsburg.
DAY 12— AUGSBURG • OBERAMMERGAU • ZURICH
We tour Augsburg today where Luther defended his 95 Theses in a
debate with Cardinal Cajetan in 1518. See the Church of St. Anne,
the starting point of the Reformation in Augsburg and “Fronhof”.
Drive to the quaint Bavarian village of Oberammergau, famous for
the Passion Play and wood carving. Visit Linderhof Castle before
continuing our drive through the Alps to Zurich for dinner and overnight.
DAY 13—ZURICH • GENEVA
Our morning tour of Zurich includes the Grossmuenster where the
Swiss reformer Huldrych Zwingli used to preach. Drive through stunningly
scenic Switzerland to Geneva with a stop in l’Abri to visit
Francis Schaeffer’s Methodist Center. Dinner and overnight
in Geneva.
DAY 14— GENEVA
Today we tour Geneva regarded as the “Protestant Rome”.
See the historic and religious sites connected with John Calvin
and John Knox: St. Peter’s Cathedral, John Knox Chapel, the
Reformation Monument with the great statues of the reformers, the
Museum of Art and History with the nearby Calvin College, United
Nations and World Council of Churches buildings as well as the lovely
lakeside promenade. Dinner and overnight in Geneva.
DAY 15— GENEVA • USA
Transfer to the airport for our return flight back to the USA. Arrive
home inspired from our trip to the source of our religious heritage.
