DAY 1 — USA • ROME
Depart from the USA on our flight to Rome. Meals and overnight on board. After dinner relax and  enjoy the on-board entertainment.

DAY 2 — ROME
Rome Morning arrival at Rome Airport where we are met and transferred to our hotel. This afternoon visit the Basilica of St. Mary Major which was built on Esquilino Hill in 352 A.D., Basilica of St. John Lateran, and the Cathedral of Rome and of the Catholic World. Next we will visit the Holy Stairs (brought from Jerusalem) which were climbed by Christ on the day of his Passion, St John’s Gate, Via Latina, Old Appia Way, Chapel of “Domine Quo Vadis?”, Catacombs of St. Callixtus or St. Sebastian, the site of over 125,000 martyrdoms. Dinner and overnight.



DAY 3 — PAPAL AUDIENCE
Ancient Rome This morning attend the weekly Papal Audience and Blessing given by His Holiness (Wednesdays). Later tour “Ancient Rome” including visits to the  Roman Forum, the imposing Colosseum where gladiators fought for life and glory, the Basilica of St. Paul Outside The Walls and the Church of St. Peter In Chains. Overnight in Rome.

DAY 4 — Rome • VATICAN • SISTiNE CHAPEL
This morning visit the Vatican Museum and Art Galleries, the Vatican Gardens, St. Peter’s Basilica, the Round Hall, the tomb of St. Helen and St. Constance, the Sistine Chapel with the works of Michelangelo, Gallery of the Chandeliers, Gallery of the Tapestries and the Geographical Maps, and the Library Hall. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 — Rome • Pompeii • Capri • Sorrento
Today we depart Rome for Pompeii. Visit the excavations of this famous Roman City destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D. We will enjoy a short tour of the city before departing by boat to Capri. Immediately on arrival, depending on the weather and sea conditions, we will take a trip to the Blue Grotto. Then return to Marina Grande where a mini-bus takes us up to Anacapri, a delightful village of white houses of oriental style. In the afternoon we proceed along the panoramic road to Sorrento, romantic town of orange and olive orchards, for a tour of this charming city with a short stop where you have time to look and buy the famous local handicrafts. Dinner and overnight in Sorrento.

DAY 6 — SORRENTO • FLORENCE
Depart Sorrento today for Florence. En route we stop in Orvieto. Upon arrival in Florence we stop at the Piazzale Michelangelo for a panoramic view of the city. Enjoy a brief tour of the city visiting the Academy of Fine Art to admire the original statue of David. Continue to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Duomo and the Baptistry with the Golden Doors of Ghiberti, Giotto’s Bell Tower and on to the historic center of Florence the Piazza della Signoria. Dinner and overnight in Florence.

DAY 7 — FLORENCE •  PISA • FLORENCE    
The morning is at leisure to explore Florence on your own. This afternoon depart for Pisa. Visit the Piazza dei Miracoli, the Cathedral and Baptistry and the world famous Leaning Tower. Return to Florence for dinner and overnight.

DAY 8 — FLORENCE • VENICE (MESTRE)
Depart for Venice. En route stop in Padua for a visit to the Basilica of St. Anthony. Continue on to Venice (Mestre) for overnight.

DAY 9 — VENICE
This morning tour San Marco’s Square. Visit the Basilica di San Marco, the Bridge of Sighs, the Campanile, and the Doges Palace. The afternoon is free to explore the city on your own or enjoy a ride in a gondola. Overnight in Venice (Mestre).

DAY 10 —VENICE • ASSISI
Morning  departure to the hillside town of Assisi, home of St. Francis and St. Claire. En route we visit Ravenna, former center of power for the Byzantine Empire, to see the mosaics. In the afternoon visit  the two Basilicas of St. Francis and the tiny Church of Porziuncola where St. Francis prayed. Overnight in Assisi.

DAY 11— ASSISI
This morning celebrate Mass at the Crypt of St. Francis under the Basilica of St. Francis. We continue our walking tour of Assisi to the Basilica of St. Claire and the Cathedral of San Rufino. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Assisi.

DAY 12—ASSISI • ROME
This morning we take a city tour of Assisi. Return to Rome in the afternoon. The balance of the day is at leisure. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 13— ROME • USA
After breakfast bid farewell to Italy as we transfer to Leonardo da Vinci Airport for our flight home. Arrive in the USA the same day with fond memories of the land we visited.
